MiM #19: David Lyons Interview – Multiple Sclerosis and Fitness

M.S. or Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic and debilitating condition affecting millions worldwide, for which there is no cure.

I met my next guest at the National Fitness Hall of Fame where he was inducted for his work as a fitness educator. David Lyons, who was diagnosed with MS in 2006 didn’t let that stop him from competing in bodybuilding, despite the challenges.

After proving that fitness has a positive impact on some of the symptoms of MS, together with his wife, Kendra, David went on to found the MS Fitness Challenge

This organization is dedicated to supporting people with MS and fitness professionals worldwide in an effort to educate and train them in the benefits of exercise, nutrition, and mindset in winning the battle against MS.

MiM #18: Gilad Janklowicz Interview

Recently recognized by the National Fitness Hall of Fame for having the “First TV Fitness Program shot on Location”. With over 30 years in the fitness industry, Gilad Janklowicz is an icon.

I discovered his show, Bodies in Motion with Gilad, over 30 years ago. At the time I was looking for a fitness program that was not too “dancy” like many of the other 1980s aerobic programs available on TV and VHS. Gilad not only provided easy to follow instructions and movements, but his programs were effective and fun! I saw this guy and said, “I like this guy. Someday I’d like to meet him.” I have been a fan ever since.

He has been my best friend in fitness even before he knew me. It’s people like him who have a tremendous impact on people’s lives, encouraging them to embrace a healthy lifestyle. He has been a role model to so many people, fitness professionals, people like me who are inspiring others to take charge of their health.

And today I have the privilege of having Gilad as a guest on my show.
